The City Council took a big step toward a balanced transportation network with their adoption of the Bike Fort Worth plan in February 2010. Interest in biking continues to grow and in many ways the Near Southside has become the epicenter of Fort Worth’s bike community. We’re home to local bike shops Panther City Bicycles and Trinity Bicycles; group rides regularly meet up at the Chat Room; and Magnolia Avenue’s “complete street” conversion with designated bike lanes was the first part of a comprehensive on-street bike route network throughout the Near Southside and the entire city. FWSI’s goal is to make the Near Southside bike-friendly for riders of all skill levels.
