Cassata was established in 1975 by two visionary Catholic Nuns to fill a need in the community: helping students who did not respond to a traditional educational environment earn a high school diploma.
Cassata was named after John J. Cassata, the first Bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. Cassata has grown from two classrooms on one floor to eight classrooms, a technology lab, a library and a multipurpose room, and from three graduates in the first year to over 3,500 since 1975.
