Magnolia Green Parking Garage

1201 Alston Avenue
Fort Worth, TX 76104

This 3-level, 320-space parking garage is located on the western side of the Magnolia Green development [Magnolia Green Project]. Construction of this TIF-funded garage had an impact much greater than just the provision of 320 parking spaces.

By building a parking garage, the Darden family, Red Oak Realty, the City of Fort Worth, and Fort Worth South, Inc. were able to realize the full potential of this mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented development designed around a central public park. Eliminating the garage would have resulted in a much lower density project, with most of the site occupied by surface parking. In addition, the master plan was designed to shield three of the garage's four facades. The visible facade along Alston Avenue incorporates brick columns and other architectural elements that soften its appearance.

City Council Members Wendy Davis and Kathleen Hicks joined Red Oak Realty and FWSI to cut the ribbon on October 5, 2006. Half of the spaces are reserved for public use during the week, and the entire garage is open to the public for free parking on the weekends.
