Turner House - 1330 Lipscomb

1330 Lipscomb Street
Fort Worth, TX 76104

The Turner House project involved the successful relocation of a historic home from its former address at 830 8th Avenue to the corner of Lipscomb and Morphy Streets in historic Fairmount.

This was the first effort by Square One Development to save a historic home from demolition by relocating it to Fairmount. Subsequent similar projects included 1316 and 1320 Alston.

Dr. Jack Turner used the former residential structure at 830 Eighth Avenue for his medical practice for exactly 50 years between 1954 to 2004. For a time Edna Gladney used the second floor of the building to support the mission of her organization.

Dr. Turner agreed to sell his property to Plaza Medical Center to allow for the hospitals continued expansion. However, he did not want to see the structure demolished, and requested assistance from Fort Worth South, Inc.'s to find someone to take the structure as a gift if they would relocate it to another suitable site.

Chris Brassard from Square One responded, and agreed to relocate the house to a vacant lot that he owned on Lipscomb Street.
