The Near Southside is an eclectic and diverse mixed-use community and the second largest employment center in Tarrant County, with approximately 30,000 jobs.  In addition to the major hospitals, the economic anchors for the district are major national and international businesses that continue to prosper and expand.  We’re proud they call the Near Southside home.  

Williamson-Dickie 

Through their dedication to innovation and continual customer contact, Williamson-Dickie has transformed itself from a small bib overall company to the largest workwear manufacturer in the world. Sold in every state, Dickies now offers a broad spectrum of work garments ranging from work pants and work shirts to denim jeans and women’s workwear. 

Justin Brands

This Berkshire Hathaway company represents Justin, Tony Lama, Nocona, and Chippewa boots – world-famous western boots made here in the Near Southside in a factory building that dates back to the early 1910s.  The district is also home to the popular Justin Outlet store on W. Vickery Boulevard. 

Renfro Foods

For more than 60 years, the Renfro family has made delicious and innovative products at affordable prices. From their Green and Habanero Salsas to the Peach and Black Bean Salsa, Renfro offers the finest flavors and authentic tastes of the Southwest.  Renfro salsas are found in stores throughout the country.

Branch-Smith Printing

This Near Southside landmark offers quality commercial printing services for association journals, catalogs, city magazines, business-to-business magazines, corporate newsletters, special-interest periodicals,  and academic publications.  

Dannon

The Dannon Company sells and produces six million cups of yogurt a day in almost 100 flavors, styles, and sizes. Their Dannon-Fort Worth plant in the Near Southside makes and distributes the world’s top-selling brand of yogurt. Dannon is sold under the names Dannon and Danone.

Vandervoorts

Vandervoorts Dairy produces a wide range of products at their South Main location for their parent company, Kroger Foods. In recent years, Vandervoorts has undertaken an aggressive modernization program.

Rahr & Sons Brewing Company

Rahr regularly makes headlines with awards at the World Beer Cup and U.S. Beer Tasting Championships.  Their many varieties of beer are now available all across Texas.

Fresnel Technologies

Fresnel Technologies is a leading manufacturer of molded plastics, Fresnel lenses and related optical components. Tarleton State University

Tarleton State’s Near Southside campus is the center for their medical laboratory programs.  Through partnerships with all the Medical District’s hospitals, Tarleton students gain real world experience using the latest technologies. Tarleton takes pride in their remarkable record of finding great jobs for graduates.

Trimble Tech High School

Trimble Tech started life as Fort Worth High School back in 1916, one of only 2 high schools in the city. Next it was named R.L. Paschal High School until a new campus was built for Paschal in the 1950′s. At that point, it became Fort Worth Technical High School. Green B. Trimble became Tech’s principal in the 1940′s, and the school’s name was changed to honor his 30-year commitment to Tech when he retired.

Now proudly known as Green B. Trimble Career and Technology High School, Tech’s name reflects an important feature of the school, a commitment always to keep just ahead of the times.
