DESCRIPTION:The Fort Worth South\, Inc. Annual Banquet is our organization's showcase event and primary fundraiser.  The banquet is always a great time\, and it's also an entertaining way to catch up on progress in the district.    This is truly a night that makes a visible difference\, as the generosity of banquet sponsors and attendees allows FWSI to pursue the initiatives that help keep the Near Southside's momentum strong.  The evening is also a great chance to see friends and meet others that make the Near Southside such an amazing neighborhood.  The 2013 banquet is scheduled for Wednesday\, March 6th\, 6-9pm at TCU's Brown-Lupton University Center.  Table sponsorships are available\, as are individual tickets. SUMMARY:Cowtown Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Cowtown will be celebrating 34 years of running the last weekend in February 2012 at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. The move to Will Rodgers Memorial Center was a huge success in 2011 with over 22\,000 runners participating. In 2012 it is anticipated that the event will have over 25\,000 runners coming in to participate in either one of the 5k events\, 10k\, half Marathon\, Marathon\, or Ultra Marathon distances.

DESCRIPTION:ArtsGoggle\, the twice-yearly celebration of art\, artists and music in Fort Worth\, Texas’ Near Southside\, is expecting another tremendous turnout on Saturday\, October 13\, 2012 from 4 to 10 pm.     Since its inception in 2003\, ArtsGoggle has evolved into a popular festival of the arts in this eclectic neighborhood of historic elegance and urbanism immediately south of the central business district of Fort Worth. This free to the public\, family-friendly event attracts a crowd as diverse as the neighborhood itself with live music\, artistic displays of every kind\, food\, drink\, and fun for everyone. Public support has increased rapidly\, as evidenced by ArtsGoggle’s selection as the Best Gallery Art Show of the Last 12 Months by Fort Worth Weekly readers in 2007 and 2008.  This year 90 businesses in the Near Southside will become art venues and open their doors to show off the work of a variety of local artists. The public is invited to park their cars and rediscover this revitalized urban neighborhood by foot\, Molly the Trolley\, bicycle or pedi-cab.  For the third time\, the event will take place on Saturday afternoon instead of Friday evening\, with extended hours to allow visitors time to enjoy all the art and music.  ArtsGoggle visitors strolling along Magnolia Avenue after dark will see how the recently installed tree lights have transformed that street into one of Fort Worth’s most distinctive destinations\, as well as Main Street and Park Place.  ArtsGoggle is presented by Fort Worth South\, Inc.\, the non-profit redevelopment organization working to revitalize this important urban neighborhood. DESCRIPTION:The event will involve the closure of segments of streets to car traffic – only human-powered modes will be allowed\, from pedestrians to bicycles and everything in between.  The closed streets will be transformed into urban playgrounds\, with food vendors\, live music\, kid’s areas\, fitness classes\, and more.  This Spring Open Streets will take place on Magnolia Avenue and 5th Avenue forming a path linking the hotspot of Magnolia to the Fairmount neighborhood and Fairmount Park. Some parts of the route will be chock-full of activities and vendors\, while some will be more relaxed\, allowing the gentle enjoyment of a neighborhood not dominated by cars.
