Tax Increment Finance District (TIF)

Fort Worth TIF #4 was created in 1997 to serve as an economic development tool to attract new investment.  The Project and Finance Plans for the TIF are available on this site for more detailed review.  

Simply, the TIF captures incremental tax revenues that flow from appreciating property values within the TIF District over itís 25 year life.  TIF #4 will generate $60 million over its remaining 20 year life.  These funds can be spent only on public infrastructure improvements within the district that support new private and public development projects.  The Project Plan indicates how these funds will be used.
