Rahr is a Near Southside destination, offering brewery tours and tastings every Saturday afternoon.
The Saturday festivities have become hugely popular, drawing hundreds to the brewery and the adjacent Leuda/May/St. Louis neighborhood.
Rahr made headlines in 2008 by winning the Bronze Medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup, "The Olympics of Brewing", in San Diego on April 19. Their medal-winning "Bucking Bock" was a traditional German maibock lager, one of many different beers offered by the independent brewery.
In addition to distribution throughout Fort Worth, Rahr is now distributed in Dallas and Collin counties, which managing partner Tony Formby predicts will greatly expand the brewery's reach. Rahr will also produce special beers for the Fort Worth Cats and the Grand Prairie Air Hogs minor league baseball teams and is in talks with Central Market.
Pick up their great beers at your local store or favorite pub, and reserve the brewery for your next party!
