The City's Historic Preservation ordinance is the primary tool for protecting historically significant buildings and encouraging their adaptive reuse. The most substantive designations -- "HSE" Highly Significant Endangered and "HC" Historic and Cultural Landmark -- offer significant economic incentives for redevelopment.
The City's Historic Preservation Officer in the Planning and Development Department administers the ordinance and can answer any questions regarding designation.
