City's Context-Sensitive Solutions Policy for Streets

The most vibrant and memorable sections of urban districts like the Near Southside and Downtown are usually characterized by walkable streets that comfortably accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders.

The City of Fort Worth is working on a Context-Sensitive Solutions policy to help create these types of streets by applying urban standards on urban streets, and suburban standards in outlying areas. The policy development process is still in the early stages.

The street and roadside design standards within the Near Southside Development Standards and Guidelines were based on a CSS approach.

Additional information from the Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department will be posted as it becomes available.
