City of Fort Worth Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan is the City of Fort Worth's official guide for making decisions about growth and development. The Plan is a summary of the City's goals, objectives, policies, strategies, programs, and projects.

One of the City's most significant policies is to promote the development of mixed-use growth centers -- districts with a concentration of jobs and housing, with pedestrian-oriented development, transit service, and a strong sense of place. The Near Southside is a designated mixed-use growth centers.

The City's adoption of the Near Southside Development Standards and Guidelines in 2007 was a key step to align development regulations with the Comprehensive Plan's policies.
